You keep hearing that you should drink more water. I tell my clients this and one response I received was "I"m not a fish". Oh but you need that water just as much as that fish does. Our bodies are made of about 60% of water. Its in everything, tissue, cells, blood, and organs. Think about it, 60%, and that water needs to be constantly replenished. We use water in our bodies to perform bodily functions from temperature regulation to digestion to eliminating toxins out of the body. We lose water from breathing, sweating, urinating and overall digestion just to name a few. So we have to constantly replenish water. The easy number to remember is 8 oz glass 8 times a day. 8x8 Each persons needs are different so just use this as a guideline. My best advice is to buy a SMALL 8 oz glass (8oz is really not that much) and drink out of that. Most americans glass sizes at home are 12 oz or greater, so knowing how much 8 oz really is can help.
Getting the adequate water intake for the day can help your mood, your skin, digestion, decrease fatigue, decrease joint pain by helping keep the joints hydrated and lubricated, prevent headaches.... I could go on and on. So why not? We need it and it will help us feel better..... so drink your water people! Learn from the fish, I bet they don't have headaches.
